Q. I read somewhere that only 20% of people in need of hearing aids wear them. Why is that number so low?
A. Many people fail to recognize the impact of their hearing loss. Others are reluctant to seek assistance, as they know someone for whom hearing aids were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, there are a number of people who have failed with hearing aids in the past. With today's technology in the hands of skilled audiologist, who can tailor that technology to best fit the listening needs of the person with the hearing loss,almost everyone can improve their hearing with hearing aids. Those who decide not to seek assistance based on the failed experiences of others will never know what they are missing.
